About the Mortgage Foundation

The Mortgage Credit Foundation was established in 1991 by the Minister of Finance in order to support the ceation of an efficient mortgage system in Poland. Today the Foundation's members are representatives of the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Justice, the National Bank of Poland, research institutions and sixteen banks, who are particularly interested in mortgages.

The Foundation organises seminars dealing with the issue of mortgage banking and mortgage financing. In performing its statutory objectives the Foundation develops proposals for solutions to the most important problems, particularly issues connected with the problems of mortgage funding.

"The objective of the Foundation is comprehensive activity, including academic studies, research, education, and publishing activities designed to introduce, improve, and enhance the functioning in the finance, banking, legal and institutional system of long-term loans and credits based on the use of variety of forms of security on real estate, and various means of refinancing. The objective is also to prepare and give opinions on acts of law that help to achieve the above objectives, as well as promoting knowledge on the conditions for the development and solutions relating to the above instruments to achieve their widespread application in the Polish economy."
